The following is information on the different ministries and groups in the
Parish was taken from the St. Anthony Parish handbook.
Altar and Rosary Society
The Altar and Rosary Society is an organization is
open to every lady of the parish. Spiritual and material welfare of the
parish is the focus of the Society. The general Altar and Rosary Society
is divided into circles that meet once a month, except in the summer. For

Associates of St. Francis of Assisi
The associates meet Tuesday; 5 p.m. All Catholics 18
years or older are welcome. For more information call Sr. JoAnn, 521-7669
Birthright
Birthright offers person to person help giving love, understanding, and all
needed moral, emotional, and practical support in a non-judgmental manor, to
every pregnant woman who requests it. They encourage pregnant women to have
their babies and offer alternatives to abortion. Service is free including

Catholic Daughters of the Americas
The organization meets the first Monday of each month at 7
p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall. All Catholic women are welcome.
Charitable works involving nursing homes and church community are the focus of
the group. For more information call Phyllis Tomaino, 522-5894.
Catholic Youth Organization
Meetings are
announced in the bulletin. It is open to all youth, grades 7-12. Fun
and fellowship for Christian youth through spiritual and social activities and
community service is the focus. Call Carole Quint, 522-7568, for
information.
Choir
Choir practice is held on Mondays at 6 p.m. in the Church. The ministry of
the choir is to increase liturgical participation through musical prayer.

Church Maintenance Committee
The committee works closely with Father to identify and
coordinate the work that needs to be done around the church complex. Call

Columbian Squires (Knights of Columbus)
The Squires is an organization for Catholic gentlemen, ages 10-18.
Developing youth by promoting Catholicism, community service, and fraternalism
among young men is the focus of the group. For more information contact Bob
Schell.
Environmental/Decorating Committee
The committee is responsible for coordinating and maintaining
the beautification of the interior of the church through the Liturgical Year.

Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion
This ministry is to assist Father in distribution of the
Eucharist at Mass and Eucharistic Ministry to the homebound, nursing homes, and
hospital. Any practicing Catholic, 18 years of age, fully initiated into
the church is eligible. For more information call the parish office,

Funeral Dinners Committee
Members of the Altar and Rosary Society Circles solicit
assistance from parish members to provide salads and cakes for the funeral
luncheon for the family and friends of the deceased. The funeral home will
make arrangements with Pat Rieb. If you would like to be added to the call
list for donating food, please call the parish office, 522-6422.
Hospitality Committee
Any parishioner is welcome.
Activities include: Senior Breakfast, Church Handbook, Greeters, Bereavement and
Welcoming Committees. Call Yvonne Hanson, 522-2702, for more information.
Knights of Columbus
The meetings are held the second and fourth Thursday of each
month at 7:30 p.m. MST and 8 p.m. DST at the Knights of Columbus Hall. All
Catholic males 18 years of age or older are eligible to join upon approval of
application and initiation. Call Ken Koester, 522-6692, for more
information.
Knights of Columbus Auxiliary
Meetings will be announced. Wives, mothers, unmarried
sisters, or daughters of living or deceased members or the Knights of Columbus
are eligible to join. You must be 18 years of age. The Auxiliary
supports the Knights of Columbus, Council 1559 and is a member of the Colorado

Lectors
Any parish member is eligible to participate in this ministry. Lectors read
the reading at Masses. Call the parish office for more information, 522-6422.
Legion of Mary
Any Catholic man or woman is welcome to participate.
The Legion meets on Wednesday, 9 a.m. Members perform charitable service.

Organist and Cantors
All vocalists and musicians are welcome. The focus is to increase
liturgical participation through musical prayer. Contact Jeannette Lawson for more information.
Parish Bazaar
St. Anthony Parish Bazaar is held the first weekend in
November. The primary goal for the bazaar is to raise money for the parish
and give opportunity for the parish members to work together. This is the
primary parish fundraiser, which features a spaghetti dinner, game booths,
raffle, bingo, and silent auction. It's fun for the whole family and participation from
the entire parish is encouraged and welcomed.
Parish Pastoral Council
The council acts as an advisory council to the parish priest.
Council members are selected from interested members of the parish. See

Prison Ministry
Members of the Prison Ministry promote the Catholic faith by
teaching classes and distributing the Eucharist to members of the Catholic faith
who are incarcerated at the Sterling Correctional Facility. For more

Rite for Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.)
For anyone whishing to join the Catholic Church or for those
wishing to grow toward a deeper understanding of the Catholic Church in general.
Meetings are on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Call the parish office, 522-6422, for information on the next class.
Right to Life
This organization increases awareness of the sacredness of
all human life. Call Tom Lederhos at 522-2072 for more information.
Snow Removal and Lawn Mowing Committee
The committee is responsible for removing the snow and ice
from in front of the church and rectory on an as needed basis. They also
mow the grass around the church complex during the summer months. Call Jim
Gerk, 522-8282, for more information.
St. Anthony Preschool and School
St. Anthony School assists parents in providing quality
Catholic Education, Preschool through eighth grade. Along with a
comprehensive curriculum, various programs and activities are also offered.

St. Stephen the Martyr Secular Franciscan Order
The Order meets the second Tuesday of each month, 7 p.m. at
Padua House, 303 South 3rd Street. It is open to all Catholics. They
are a Canonical order, secular following the rule of St. Francis of Assisi.

Ushers
The ushers assist people in finding a place to sit at Mass, taking up the
collection, presenting the offertory gifts, and passing out the bulletins. It
is open to all men and women of the parish.
Young at Heart Senior Citizen Group
This committee will create a structured group
that will provide social and spiritual activities for senior members of our
parish. Meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Mondays at 6:30 p.m. at Knights of
