Dear Parents/Guardians:

Merry Christmas! It is hard to believe Christmas will soon be over already. I hope the season has brought you many blessings and a time for peace and quiet.

This month is very busy, so please keep your eyes open for calendars and letters as they go out. I would like to point out one thing of recent development that is exciting for us. During Catholic Schools Week, Bishop Conley has agreed to not only meet with the students on Monday morning, he will also say Mass for the school at 8:30 am as well! Thanks to Fr. Rob for his work on that. This will be our Children’s Mass for the week since we do not hold classes that Friday.

Also, remember we will be hosting the Fourth-grade Mass the next day, but the time is changed to 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 27 instead of 10:00 am. Some of the other schools asked to have more travelling time—and we gladly accommodated since they are not used to extended day trips like we are.

I am quite proud of the junior high students! For Wednesday of that week, they requested time for Adoration, so we will have a schedule from 8:30 am-12:15 pm, so each class will have time to do that.

Remember, if you haven’t purchased your Fr. Stan Fortuna concert tickets, please call the office. If you have young children who will be sitting on your lap, you DO NOT need to purchase a ticket for him or her. Also remember Fr. Stan will be saying the 9:00 Mass on January 25.

If you haven’t done so already, please schedule a tuition agreement appointment with Fr. Robert or myself for the 2009-2010 school year. Call Gloria in the parish office or Lynnette to schedule a time.

The Junior High Boys and Girls Basketball games scheduled for Monday, January 26, 2009 versus Peetz will be played here at home. Introductions will begin at 4:00 pm and game time will be 4:15 pm.

Lynnette as asked that you please remember when you turn in your labels from Campbell that you include the whole label. Mrs. Wilterdink will cut off the part of the label that they require. We are receiving many partial labels that do not work to send into the company. Thank you for your cooperation!

As always, we give thanks for the kindness of others. We thank Larry and Mary Unrein for their work on our Saint Anthony statue located in the cafeteria. They did a beautiful job repairing the chips and for repainting it.

We would also like to thank the following people who made Santa and the Santa bags possible for the school Christmas Program:  Dale's Jewelry, Bedford Furniture, Major Liquor, Edward Jones - Pam Werner, Cattleya Floral, Chris and Julie Brower, Pat Rieb, H-R Tire Co., Inc., David and Veronica Hernandez, Lousberg Grain, Elem Street Liquor, Herzog Automotive, Creative Woodworking, McDonald & Keil Physical Therapy, Sterling RV Center, Japp Masonry, Village Inn, Hutchison Construction, Colorado Popcorn, Leibert-McAtee, Lambrecht & Co., and John Piel.  We appreciate your generosity!

I’m late on this one, but it is very important to acknowledge the Keep Christ in Christmas poster winners:  Kindergarten - 1st place - AJ Aguirre, 2nd place - Madison Sutter, and 3rd place - Toby Conner; First Grade - 1st place - Jaxon McCracken, 2nd place - Joslyne Lopes, 3rd place - Nayel Bores; Second Grade - 1st place - Liam Skerjanec, 2nd place - Madison Fehringer, 3rd place - Brooke Bohler; Third Grade - 1st place - Alexys Frank, 2nd place - Leahnya Pridemore, 3rd place - Caden Lightle; Fourth Grade - 1st place - Sara Reed, 2nd place - Taylor Knudson, 3rd place - Morgan Headley; Over All Winner Grade Kindergarten through Fourth - Sara Reed; Fifth Grade - 1st place - Neil Lovell, 2nd place - Kyle Etl, 3rd place - Joey Stahley; Sixth Grade - 1st place - Timmi Keisel, 2nd place - Kylie Herzog, 3rd place - Evelin Diaz; Seventh Grade - 1st place - Ian Coberly, 2nd place - Andrea Abarca, 3rd place - Josi Dreher; Eighth Grade - 1st place - Kara Williams, 2nd place - Aaron Delgado, 3rd place - Kelsie Schaefer; Over All Winner Grade Fifth through Eighth - Timmi Keisel.
