Dear Parents/Guardians:

It is with great anticipation that we have begun celebrating Catholic Schools Week with Grandparents Day today. It was a marvelous success. We hope you all may be able to participate in the celebration in some way. This year’s theme is, “Catholic Schools Celebrate Service.” We pray our students continue to learn and apply the corporal works of mercy now and throughout their lives, for it is in giving we receive, and in service that we are elevated.

Again, we need all of you to please schedule a tuition agreement appointment with either Fr. Robert or me. IT IS IMPERATIVE WE HAVE A ROUGH IDEA OF OUR ENROLLMENT FOR NEXT YEAR BY FEBRUARY 24. Please…enroll your children early. Father and I thank you so very much for taking care of this.

Remember, Fr. Stan will be saying the 9:00 Mass on January 25.

Please mark your calendars, the Living the Catholic Faith Conference has been changed from March 6th to February 27th, so we will hold school on Friday, March 6th. Thus, there will be no school on Friday February 27th.

Congratulations to the student who made the effort award and honor roll this second quarter:  4th grade honor roll - Sarah Reed, Dustin Quint, Kristi Cook, Abbey Brower and Emmanuel Oketunmbi; 4th effort award - Jessica Williams, Taylor Knudson, Morgan Headley, Clifford Farrington, Sam Davidson, Abby Davidson and Austin Burkholder.

5th grade honor roll - Justice Bretz-Saenz, Faith Eichhorn, Jenna Knudson, Ben Lambrecht, Emily Lovell, Neil Lovell, Eric Lovell, Kelly McDonald, Shelbe Jo Schure, and Joey Stahley; 5th effort award - Kyle Etl, Katherine Lambrecht, Alex Marusin, Nakani Miller, Tyler O'Toole and Mace Quint.

6th grade effort award - Gabby Lambrecht and Trenton Schaefer; 7th grade honor roll - Ian Coberly, Eric Etl and Scott Rosas; 8th grade honor roll - Tanner Bedsaul, Hanna Hickert, Morgan Quint, Hannah Schreyer and Aaron Delgado. Great job, keep up the good work!

Congratulation to our Intramural Boys and Girls Basketball teams who played like champions and had a successful basketball tournament.

The school received a check in the amount of $47.50 from Cartridges for Kids. Please keep those used ink cartridges and used cell phones coming in.

As always, we give thanks for the kindness of others. Thanks to Marge Bowin for the rubber bands, envelopes, calendar and note pads that she donated; to Marla Foxhoven for the bible story books she donated; to the Knights of Columbus for selling concert tickets following the Masses and for the new racks for the school cafeteria refrigerator. The cooks greatly appreciate them!

Thanks to Logan County Lumber for donating the wood for the bench pads; and to Jeff Brekel for coaching our Boys Intramural Basketball Team. We appreciate the time and talent he shared with our boys this season.

Thanks also to you to all who helped with the 6th Grade Tourney: to Clara Wilterdink for her donation and time and help in finding teams for the tournament; to Randy and Susie Stahley for getting the concession stand organized and set up; to our refs: Tim Stahley, Chas Lengfelder, and Danny and Dylan Brisby who did an outstanding job; to those parents, alumni and Mrs. Carole Bretz who worked the day of the tournament; to our Junior High students who volunteered their time to work the tournament:  Kyle Lengfelder, Hannah Schreyer, Kelsie Schaefer, Josi Dreher, Ian Coberly, Eric Etl and Preston Kerr; to Carson Bedford for being the Bobcat mascot; to Lynnette Werner for preparing the programs, and to John Ertle for setting up the gym

May God bless you and keep you and your families. I look forward to seeing you all this weekend, and at the other celebrations of the week. Lastly, I would like to thank the wonderful staff God has led to our school—they truly embody the fifth Mark of a Catholic School: Sustained by gospel witness. Keep them in your prayers this week. Until then…
