Dear Parents & Guardians:

At the beginning of our staff meetings, we all have an opportunity to share our victories, and to give thanks for the blessings He bestows upon us. In addition, we take time to rejuvenate and remind ourselves of our mission as educators, so I would like to share with you something we read during our meetings:

Let my teaching drop as the rain,

     My speech distill as the dew,

     As the droplet on the fresh grass

     And as the showers on the herb.

For I proclaim the name of the Lord;

     Ascribe greatness to our God!

          --Deuteronomy 32:2-3

During this weekend’s reunion, some of the junior high students will be assisting with tours of the building and answering questions. It is a prime opportunity for us to share and shine. Our students reflect our mission. They are a shining example of the greatness of Christ’s love in our school. Deo gratias!

We are in the process of planning for High Interest Week classes again this year. These classes provide students an opportunity for immersion into topics of unique interest. They are scheduled for Tuesday, October 21 through Friday, October 24 from 1:30-3:00 p.m.  If you are interested in teaching (or team teaching) a class, please complete the attached form and return it to the school office no later than Wednesday, September 24.

For those of you who work at Wal-Mart, or who have family and/or friends who do, they may participate in Wal-Mart’s “Volunteerism Always Pays Program” in which employees may volunteer their time at St. Anthony Catholic School, complete the proper paper work, and Wal-Mart will make a donation to the school.

Paul Schmidt of Radio Shack has donated a 50-inch RCA HD DLP TV that will be raffled at the Gala September 27. Tickets are $25.00 and are available in the school office should you like to contribute your time or treasure in that way. Of course, we still have Gala and dinner tickets available in the school office for you to purchase or sell, also.

Again, remember, the last Safe Environment training will be held in Ft. Morgan at St. Helena’s on Saturday, September 20 at 10:00 am.

We offer our thanksgiving to the Bank of Colorado for its donation of popcorn bags to the school, and to Madeline Korbe for the writing pads, rubber bands, and spiral notebooks that she donated to the school.

As we approach the mid-quarter next week, continue to keep our St. Anthony family in your prayers as we give thanks to God for His blessings and opportunities for growth, and for the wonderful opportunities unique to our school.

Pax et lux,
