Dear Parents/Guardians:

Fr. Stan Fortuna reminds us this week, “‘When tensions arise, the credibility of the Church in her doctrine on the fundamental respect due to each person rests on the moral courage of pastors and faithful to stake everything on love (JPII Novo Millennium Inuente #49).’

“Mother Cabrini help us to stake everything on love; JP help us to stake everything on love. Please be sure of my continued prayers for you and your families and friends to stake everything on love; and please pray for me that I do the same more and more every day…Lord willing talk to ya'll next week…with love and prayers 4 ever in Jesus and Mary…” Remember, he will be here January 25 and will perform in concert at Corsberg Theatre at NJC—save the date.

Our last Essential Mark of a Catholic school is, “Sustained by the Witness of Teaching.” For Catholic school educators, theirs is a calling and not simply the exercise of a profession. “If students in Catholic schools are to gain a genuine experience of the Church, the example of teachers and others responsible for their formation is crucial: the witness of adults…is a vital part of the school’s identity.” We are blessed with the talents of an extraordinary group of educators. Please keep them in your daily prayers.

The junior high boys basketball game time today, November 20th, has been changed to 5:30 p.m. Support our Bobcats at their first home game of the season!

Also, the team will be holding a food drive for the Logan County Cooperating Ministry. They will have boxes at the admission table during their December 1st home game against Merino. Game time is 6:00 p.m. Help the food bank and support our Bobcats.

There will be a Thanksgiving Prayer Service on Wednesday, November 26th at 9:00 AM in the school gym. Each student is encouraged to bring canned or non-perishable food items for the Cooperating Ministry.

Mark your calendars for December 4th. Following the Parade of Lights downtown, the PTSO will host a Pizza Party in the cafeteria. Bring $5.00 for your family and join us at 6:30 p.m. Following supper at 7:00, meet in the gym with Fr. Robert and me for the State of the School Address. We’ll show you the numbers and our vision for how we plan to move forward for the next school year.

In addition, the class with the highest percentage of parent attendance will win a root beer float party sponsored by Mr. Randy Stahley.

In addition, we will have registration packets available following the address to help you get started for next year. We hope to see you ALL there.

The school received a check in the amount of $29.00 from Cartridges for Kids. Please keep those used ink cartridges and used cell phones coming in!

We also give thanks for the benevolence of the following:  Aline Kennedy for the rosaries she made and gave to the school; Wal-Mart for donating bicycle helmets to the preschool.

A few reminders: Wal-Mart, in cooperation with the DOC and Waste Management, is sponsoring the Recycling Challenge each Saturday during the month of November.

Lastly, remember the PTSO is creating a yearbook. Your digital photos are welcomed—more details coming.

May God bless us, may we never fear the Cross, and may we have the moral courage to stake everything on love.

Pax et lux,
